INGREDIENTS:
- Oil, as needed, for coating grill grate
- 4 yellow onion slices, peeled, center-cut ¼’ thick, rings; do not separate
- 1/2 cup red cabbage, thinly shaved
- 1/2 cup green cabbage, thinly shaved
- 4 tbsp Lexington BBQ sauce; see recipe
- 4 PARTY PACK Beef Patties (frozen)
- 8 thick slices of Texas toast bread
- 4 butter lettuce leave, rinsed and patted dry
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat grill to 350 degrees.
- Grill the center-cut onion slices on both sides, until just tender. Be careful to keep the rings from separating. Remove from grill to cool.
- Once the grilled onion has cooled, remove the outermost ring on each and set aside.
- Finely chop the remaining grilled onion and place in a bowl with the red and green cabbages, and two tablespoons of the Lexington BBQ sauce (see recipe in Tailgatin’ and Party Side Recipe section)
- Toss together until well combined and set aside to marinate in refrigerator.
- Put the frozen Holten’s PARTY PACK Beef Patties on the grill. Once juices come to the top, it’s ready to flip.
- While the beef patties are grilling, lightly toast both sides of the bread slices on the grill.
- Remove bread from grill and place a bed of lettuce on 4 slices.
- Place the hot and juicy grilled burgers on the lettuce.
- Top the burgers with the reserved grilled outer onion rings and place the Lexington slaw inside each.
- Drizzle the remaining Lexington BBQ sauce over the top of the Lexington slaw and burgers
- Top each burger with a remaining toast slice and serve.
